The PA Media and Design Competition is an annual event that highlights Pennsylvania students’ application skills, creativity and knowledge. Students are able to unleash their creativity, learn how to convey information more dynamically, and enhance the learning process.

Appalachia IU8 will hold the 2020 PA Regional Media and Design Competition on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at the Greater Johnstown Career and Technology Center, Room E212.

Registration Deadline: Thursday, February 27, 2020

Participants: Individual Students or Groups (Three or Fewer)

Sponsors: Each team must have an adult sponsor for communication purposes and to chaperone students to the regional event (and state, where relevant.)

Cost: $75/team. (A morning snack and lunch will be provided.) Your district will be invoiced after the event.

There will not be live Internet available at the regional competition. Teams must bring a district laptop with the project loaded.

Awards: The regional fair recognizes first, second and third place in each category in each grade level.

First prize in each category and grade level will advance to the state competition in May at Dickinson College, Carlisle, PA.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

District/Team WILL NOT be invoiced if the event is cancelled by the IU due to low enrollment
District/Team WILL NOT be invoiced if the participant cancels at least 7 days prior to the start of the event.
District/Teams WILL BE invoiced the FULL COST if the participant cancels with less than 7 days notice of the start of the event or if the participant simply does not attend.
