    Bulk Purchasing
    Appalachia IU8, representing the purchasing power of 35 School Districts, is able to offer many of your classroom/office commodities (laminating film, transparencies, bulbs, batteries, CDs, etc.) at a cost savings.
     
    "Lend A Hand"
    Appalachia Intermediate Unit 8 is now offering on-site hardware and periphery support services to its schools.
      
    Interlibrary Express (ILEx)
    IU8 can deliver Interlibrary Loan materials on your district’s behalf to other schools or public libraries.
     
    Lamination of Teaching Materials
    IU8 can laminate teaching materials of various shapes and sizes.
     
    Media Duplication Service
    IU8 can make and deliver copies of CDs and DVDs for a nominal fee.
     
    Appalachia Intermediate Unit 8 has a Fluke Networks EtherScope Series II Network Assistant available for rent. 
     
    Appalachia Intermediate Unit 8 now offers on-site technology training to school districts and nonpublic schools within the IU.
     
    PAIUNet 
    IU8 is a partner with other Intermediate Units in the state. PAIUnet enables educators and students to create, communicate, collaborate and share valuable resources to enhance student learning.
     
    Regional Wide Area Network
    Through the IU8 Wide-Area Network connection, district schools are able to provide educational content more efficiently and effectively to their students.
     
    Technology Network Meetings
    IU8 invites technology coordinators from the member school districts and vo-tech schools to periodic informational meetings during the school year.
     
    Technology Workshops 
    Workshops include Windows 8, iPad basics, Nearpod. 
     
    Training and Conference Facilities
    Three multi-purpose rooms may be rented for various educational activities. These rooms are located at the IU8 Educational Development Center in Duncansville.
     
    Videoconferencing
    Selected events held at IU8 locations may be broadcast via videoconference at a district’s request. Also, technicians are available to assist districts with tests or issues involving their own videoconferencing equipment. Videoconferencing bridge services are also available.
     
    Zoom webconferencing meeting rooms are available to member schools. Zoom is comparable in functionality to GoToMeeting or Webex, where you can connect to a virtual meeting with a PC, laptop, mobile device, videoconferencing codec, or phone call.
