    Appalachia IU 8 is conducting the Advanced Training for Outstanding Mathematics and Science (ATOMS) Scholars Program again this summer. These are hands-on, high level, intensive STEM experiences for interested students who will be completing grades 2 through 8 this school year.

    •    Costs are as follows:
       o    A three-day MINI-Day Camp Program  for $115 - 8:30 am - 2:45 pm
       o    A five-day BASIC-Day Camp Program  for $155 - 8:30 am - 2:45 pm
       o    Costs can be subsidized by financial aid if appropriate paperwork is provided by the family and scholarships are received from area businesses.

    •    The online application form should be completed by the parent. Following this, we will communicate with the student's school district for eligibility input. School Districts will be contacted and strongly encouraged to write specific comments regarding the student's eligibility for this program. In many cases, final determination of acceptance into the program is based on these recommendations. Comments are always confidential.

    •    If the parent is requesting financial aid, the parent will need to provide a copy of the student's current lunch program form indicating his/her eligibility for free/reduced lunches.  This form must be scanned and emailed to the

    •    Selection for this program is competitive and receiving an original application does not guarantee admission. Class size are limited.

     *Note: Students are welcome to attend any camp and do NOT need to attend an ATOMS camp in their home district.
