Beginning in the fall of 2006 Appalachia Intermediate Unit 8 will sponsor the Bedford / Blair Scholastic Quiz League.  High school teams from the districts in these two counties will have the opportunity to test their knowledge during meets with other league teams.  Once the winner of the Bedford / Blair League is identified, that team will then meet with the winning team from the Central Western Scholastic Quiz League.  The overall winner from the two leagues will then represent Appalachia IU8 at the Pennsylvania Academic Competition held at the Capitol Building in Harrisburg during April of each year.
