Biscotti (An Italian cookie)

Ingredients:

1/2 pound margarine
1 3/4 cups sugar
6 eggs
1 bottle anis flavoring
2 tsp. Baking powder
2 tsp. vanilla
6 cups flour
3/4 cup chopped almonds

Directions:

Cream 1/2 lb. margarine and 1 3/4 cups sugar. Add, 1 at a time, 6 eggs, and beat after each egg. 

Add and beat 1 bottle anis flavoring, 2 tsp baking powder, and 2 tsp. of vanilla.

Mix by hand 6 cups flour and 3/4 cup of chopped almonds.

Dough will be sticky… wet your hands and smooth over into loaves (about 4-5).

Bake at 350 for about 25 minutes.

Cut hot into slices and toast in oven under broiler on both sides.

Store in a cool place in an airtight container.

Serves 6.
