Appalachia Intermediate Unit 8 is an approved provider of Act 48 activities. IU 8 offers a variety of professional development opportunities for the districts in Blair, Bedford, Cambria and Somerset Counties.

The IU 8 Curriculum Department provides assistance to districts regarding the development of their act 48 plan. Additionally, technical assistance is provided for the PDE Act 48 Records Management System.
