Mrs. Amy Woomer is the Director of Educational Programs and Services of Appalachia Intermediate Unit 8. Throughout her career in the field of education, she has had the privilege to serve as a teacher for students with disabilities and an elementary school counselor. In addition, Mrs. Woomer has worked as a special education supervisor, director of special education and an educational consultant.
She received her Bachelor of Science degree, in Special Education, from Penn State University; her Master of Science degree, in Elementary School Counseling, from Indiana University of Pennsylvania; and earned administrative certifications in both Supervisor of Special Education and Elementary School Principal from Saint Francis University.
Mrs. Woomer's career has been dedicated to providing and supporting educational programs and services that meet the needs of all students, in a variety of educational settings, where every child feels valued, feels a genuine sense of belonging and grows personally and academically to be a participating and contributing member of the classroom, the school, and community in which the student will live and work.
